Prayer is our divine connection to Yahweh—a sacred channel through which we commune with the Most High. Here are three of the most powerful times to pray and why they matter, according to Scripture.

1. During Prayer and Fasting

Fasting is a spiritual discipline that humbles the soul and sharpens spiritual sensitivity. When combined with prayer, it unlocks divine intervention, clarity, and power.

  • Matthew 17:21 (KJV) — “Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.”
    Jesus made it clear that some breakthroughs, especially spiritual warfare victories, require the combination of both prayer and fasting.

  • Acts 16:25-26 — “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God... and suddenly there was a great earthquake...”
    Their midnight prayer and praise triggered a supernatural jail break.

  • Exodus 11:4 — “About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt.”
    God chose midnight as the time to execute judgment on Egypt and deliver Israel.
